Empowering Children, Young People & Adults
Dr Alexis Carey helps children, adolescents, and adults thrive through compassionate, evidence-based psychological care.
With extensive experience working in schools and healthcare settings across Ireland and the UK, she supports individuals aged 6 through adulthood to navigate challenges in school, work, and everyday life, building confidence, resilience, and lasting wellbeing.
Her integrative approach combines Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Health Psychology, and the DNA-V model to help clients:
• Build emotional regulation skills
• Reduce anxiety and manage stress
• Strengthen coping strategies
• Discover and use their strengths
• Improve mental, physical, and social wellbeing
At Life Skills Dojo, Alexis creates a safe, supportive, and neuroaffirmative space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. Therapy is collaborative, practical, and tailored to each person; because no two journeys are the same.
Together, you’ll develop tools that make everyday life feel lighter, more manageable, and more meaningful.

Workshops
Interactive, practical, and energising workshops for schools, local authorities, and community groups.
Designed to create real behaviour change and lasting wellbeing, each session is hands-on, engaging, and packed with tools participants can use straight away.
Popular topics include:
• Building healthy habits
• Managing exam stress
• Improving sleep
• Developing emotional regulation skills
• Understanding your window of tolerance and managing difficult feelings effectively
Participants leave feeling more confident, more capable, and ready to put learning into action, not just theory.
Youth Participation Consultation
Young people deserve a real voice in the services that shape their lives.
We support organisations to meaningfully involve young people in designing programmes, policies, and supports that truly work for them.
Using World Café-style discussions and interactive workshops, we:
• Gather honest insights in creative, collaborative ways
• Co-design projects alongside young people
• Empower youth to influence decisions that affect them
• Deliver clear, practical recommendations grounded in lived experience
Our approach is inclusive, rights-based, and focused on creating genuine impact, not token consultation.
Because the best solutions are built with young people, not just for them.
When I work with your child or teenager, I work with you too.
My goal is to give parents and carers the tools, confidence, and understanding to support progress at home , so the strategies your child learns don’t just stay in sessions, but make a real difference in everyday life.
Together, we build a strong foundation for lasting, positive change.
